Royce Witchet is being remembered as a loving son, a caring brother, and a young person whose kindness and protective nature touched the lives of those around him. At just 15 years old, Royce’s life was tragically cut short, leaving his family, friends, and community mourning a heartbreaking loss.

A student at Westfield High School, Royce died after being shot Tuesday afternoon near the Spring ISD administration building following school. According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the teenager was shot on a sidewalk after an encounter with another male.
Emergency responders rushed Royce to a hospital for treatment, but despite efforts to save his life, he later died from his injuries.
Authorities have not yet determined what led to the confrontation. Investigators said the other male involved fled the area on foot after the shooting, and the search for the person responsible remains ongoing.
Officials are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers to assist with the investigation.
