Some goodbyes come without warning, leaving behind a silence that words can never truly fill. Today, we pause to remember Marissa Marie Gonzalez, 21, of Hampton, Virginia, whose life was tragically taken far too soon following a devastating motor vehicle crash on Route 460 in Ivor on February 20, 2026.
Marissa was approximately 20 weeks pregnant when the heartbreaking head-on collision occurred. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later passed away from the injuries she sustained despite efforts to save her.
At only 21 years old, Marissa’s life was filled with hopes, dreams, love, and countless moments still waiting to be lived. Her sudden passing leaves behind a deep sense of grief for all who knew and loved her.
