A man was injured Tuesday after a shooting during an altercation inside a vehicle in Manteca, California, with police later arresting a suspect in Stockton.
The incident was reported around 12:43 p.m. in the 200 block of N. Union Road after Manteca Police officers responded to reports of a vehicle that had driven into a park and may have been involved in a collision.
Upon arrival, officers found a male victim lying on the ground suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. A firearm was also located in the street near the scene.
Authorities said the shooting stemmed from an altercation inside the vehicle. A suspect was taken into custody in Stockton approximately 45 minutes after the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing as police continue working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the shooting.
