With profound sadness, we remember Billy B. Reitz of Newell, South Dakota, whose life was tragically lost following a motorcycle crash near Belle Fourche on Saturday.
According to authorities, Billy was traveling eastbound on U.S. 212 on a 2007 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide when the motorcycle left the roadway near Mile Marker 26. The motorcycle traveled through a ditch before striking a fence, resulting in fatal injuries.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol responded to the crash and is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Officials have noted that the information released so far remains preliminary as the investigation continues.
Billy’s passing leaves behind family, friends, and a community grieving the loss of a life that mattered deeply. Beyond the circumstances of the crash was a person whose memories, relationships, and impact will continue to be remembered.
